What is a truck roll?
A truck roll is one technician trip to one location. It carries a fixed cost regardless of what happens there: drive time, fuel, vehicle wear, and an occupied slot on the dispatch board.
Why it matters
Because the cost is fixed, revenue per truck per day is a cleaner capacity metric than revenue per technician. Trucks, not people, are usually the constraint. Reducing wasted rolls, through better call capture and stocked vehicles, adds margin without adding headcount.
